機(jī)架是軋鋼機(jī)的主要部件，rolling mill，它在軋鋼過程中承擔(dān)金屬變形給予的負(fù)荷。因此要求機(jī)架有足夠的強(qiáng)度和剛度，以保證設(shè)備安全和產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量。型鋼軋機(jī)的機(jī)架形式較多，常見的機(jī)架形式有開口式機(jī)架、閉口式機(jī)架和半閉口式機(jī)架3種。

軋制H型鋼時(shí)，軋機(jī)作為機(jī)架使用，帶有兩個(gè)水平輥和兩個(gè)立輥，對軋件的腹板和翼緣四面碾壓。軋制普通型鋼時(shí)，軋機(jī)轉(zhuǎn)換成兩輥機(jī)架，即不帶立輥，750rolling mill，只帶有兩個(gè)水平輥，對軋件進(jìn)行軋制.
